Round 4 of TTC - Ovulation Day

I'm not feeling too good about my chances this month. Hubby and I BD'd (babydanced) on my first fertile day, but I've been in a slump for the last few days and there has been no romance and some tension between us. We finally talked things over today--mostly about my lack of motivation and his lack of effort in the lovemaking department. (Note to guys: Telling your wife "I'm going to play Call of Duty. Come get me when you're ready for bed" does NOT constitute foreplay!!)

The ovulation test I took yesterday looked almost positive, but not quite. So I thought I would ovulate on Saturday as expected, but today's ovulation test was a definite negative, so I'm thinking yesterday's was positive after all. Which means I probably ovulated today (a day earlier than expected). Luckily, after our talk tonight we determined that neither of us was "over it" for this month, so we DTD (did the deed) tonight. Hopefully it will be enough, but we're going to order Pre-Seed for next month if it doesn't happen. How cool would that be, though, to conceive on Mother's Day weekend?

Trying to Conceive, Round 3

Does making a baby seem like a chore to anyone else? I am finding myself super busy and stressed out this cycle, and I don't feel like now is a good time to conceive. I have been exhausted and unmotivated in general. My husband is as eager as ever to get pregnant, so there has been some baby dancing, but I haven't been as consistent as I was last cycle. We dtd last night, and my ovulation test was positive this morning, so there's a chance...but because I'm so stressed and busy I sort of secretly hope it doesn't happen for another month. Of course, in two weeks I will probably feel differently, so in a way I also hope that I get pregnant this month with minimum effort on my part. Hah! Does that make any sense? I have next week off because it's spring break, so maybe that will rejuvenate me and I will get tons of stuff done and I won't be as stressed and then I'll get a BFP...maybe. Hopefully, the third time's the charm.

It all started with peeing on a stick...

Many women document the stages of their pregnancy from the time they test positive with a bun in the oven. I've decided to start sooner than that. Here is the story of me, from TTC (trying to conceive) to delivery, and possibly beyond. Who knows...blogging may be obsolete by then.

A year and a half into our marriage, my husband and I decided "it's time," and I stopped taking the pill at the end of January and purchased a Babyprep ovulation test kit. The test comes with 7 days worth of test strips. They test for a surge in the Luteinizing Hormone (LH) that occurs just before ovulation.

By my 6th day of testing, I was starting to think that maybe I wouldn't ovulate normally because I had just come off the pill, when - SCORE! - the LH was flowing and ovulation was approaching. The picture below shows my tests from 2/10/10 on top (negative) and 2/11/10 on the bottom (positive).

The ovulation kit is supposed to test positive 24-48 hours before ovulation. Since I took it at 7:00 this morning, I would guess that I will ovulate some time tomorrow. Wish me luck!
