My Ovaries and I are a Well-Oiled Machine

Remember that movie "Groundhog's Day?" Where Bill Murray keeps waking up and cycling through the same experiences over and over? Sure, he tries new things now and then, like taking a bath with a toaster, to see if he can change the course of things, but the next morning he wakes up and finds himself back at square one.

This is exactly how I feel after 8 months of trying to conceive. I add new techniques to the mix each month (PreSeed, Fertile CM supplements, green tea...), but each month I find myself back at the starting line, having to do it all over again.

My body is like clockwork, and at this point in my TTC process, my ovaries and I are working together like a well-oiled machine. Today is Cycle Day 14, and sure enough, just like last month, I have fertile cervical mucus and a positive ovulation test. My husband and I will baby dance for the next 3 days, and then my temperature will spike to show that I ovulated. My temps will float around for approximately 12 days and then come crashing down as my cycle comes to an end.

Here's a picture of today's positive ovulation test:

As annoying and repetitive as my cycles are, my time spent on the Bump message boards has taught me to appreciate that my body is working as it should be. I have heard so many stories of women who have unpredictable cycles or who aren't ovulating at all. I have learned that not everyone is as lucky as I am, and for that I am grateful.

It took us ten months of charting and temperature taking before our BFP with our first. I bought a Clearblue Easy Fertility monitor at the start of our 9th cycle TTC and we were pregnant at cycle 10. Maybe you should give it a try...

Hang in there! I know how frustrating it is!

I am so jealous of you, because I have not ovulated in 5 months :-( I'm on Provera right now to try to re-set my system and jump-start things again. That being said, I feel for you, too. Whether you are ovulating or not, it is not fun to not be pregnant when you want to be!! I'm really struggling with it right now, because it seems like EVERYONE I know is pregnant.

Our time will come, too!!

I like your attitude! I felt the same way (like Groundhog's Day) until I didn't ovulate for 4 months, then I knew I shouldn't have taken my body's clockword for granted. :)

It's frustrating for sure - keep up the good work. Have you talked to your doctor yet? Sounds like maybe an implantation issue maybe?

I hope this is your month! :)

I feel the same way Melissa! My DH and I have been ttc the same amount of time as you and your hubby. I hope this is the month! It's frustrating leaving it all up to fate...everything has to be timed perfectly. I think you and I are on the same cycle...should found out if it's a BFP or negative soon! Good luck! keep us posted! :)

Well...it wasn't my month. I'm now on CD3. I'll add a new post soon.
